The Cheapest Car Gets Most Advanced Booking

Tata Motors Ltd launched the world’s cheapest car, priced for 100,000 rupees at the 9th Annual Auto Expo, at Pragati  Maidan, New Delhi on  January 10, 2008, with the aim of providing car ownership to millions of people across the developing world. Nano, a four door, five seater family car with a 33 bhp , 623 cc rear engine ( with a maximum speed of 70 km / h , 43 mph ) which went for sale on  March  23, 2009 with  a booking period from April 9, 2009  to April 25, 2009, generating more than 200,000 bookings . The cars started to be delivered to customers after July 17, 2009. First 100,000 Nano buyers were selected through lucky draw.
