Roshan Lal Vishwakarma of Narsinhpur, Madhya Pradesh created a sugarcane bud chipper. It is a small attachment for chipping sugarcane buds which can be used for plantation instead of whole cane. It consists of a surface plate, holding stand, reciprocating assembly, actuating lever, connector, ‘U’ shaped knife, ‘U’ shaped grove, supporting studs, spiral spring, etc. One needs to place cane on the platform keeping the buds in the opposite side of the studs. When one presses the hand lever, the buds chips out from the cane and by other hand operator needs to push the cane ahead and rotate by 180 degree since adjacent eyes (buds) are at opposite sides. This product was introduced in the market in the year 2005.
