Onion Transplanter

Pandharinath Sarjerao More of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra made an onion transplanter. The task of transplanting onion seedlings is time consuming, labour intensive and toilsome process.  It consists of a cultivator frame, fertilizer box, fertilizer conveying tubes, trays for keeping the seedlings, two ground wheels, furrow openers, chutes to deliver the seedlings, seating arrangement for four labours, etc. The seedlings are delivered manually in the delivery chutes for planting. The row-to-row distance of 7 inches and plant-to-plant distance of 3.5 inches are maintained in this machine, whereas in conventional method it is generally 9 inches and 4-5 inches, respectively.
