Dainik Bhaskar Group, the Indian newspaper which mainly focuses on bringing out the creativity from the bottom of the people and especially the children of India, organized ‘Brain Hunt 2012- The quest of wonder kidz!’.  It was yet another out-of- the-box creation by the vivacious team of print media where in different unique competitions were held amongst the students from standard 1 to standard 12, under the banner of ‘Bhaskar Champs Club’.

The competitions were held in 4 different categories: Category A– Class 1- class3, Category B– Class 4- class-6, Category C– class7- class 9 and Category D– class 10- class 12.   The activity was an amazing roller-coaster ride of divergent thinking which involved 16 mind-boggling activities. The activities were in the form of a paperback workbook fabulously conceived for the visionary minds hidden in the raw talents of the Indian students. The activities consisted of powerhouse mix of drawings, essay writing and painting – sketching. The brainstorming idea was such a huge hit among the academic scenario that the Dainik Bhaskar Group was able to cumulate and whopping participation of over 3 lac students across 11 states and 52 districts of India.

Some unique activities brain churned in Brain Hunt 2012 competitions are as follows: What if Bapu was alive? 4th monkey of Gandhiji.  A letter to’ The President of India’ Graffiti wall etc.

The brain hunt rolled on from February 1, 2012.

The most overwhelming response was in favour of “The letter to the President’ activity. A total of 3, 00,874 students from all around the country wrote letters to the President Smt. Pratibha Patil and sent their entries but only 87,298 entries could qualify for the record attempt Out of the 80k calculation, the city, state and national level jury short listed 40 National level (10 winners in each category), 80 panel’s choice winners (20 winners from each category) and 100 special mention winners (25 from each category). A total of 540 workbooks were short-listed and forwarded to the Dainik Bhaskar Group’s corporate office (Bhopal-Madhya Pradesh) for short-listing of 40 National winners.

All the 40 winners were participants were given the greatest treat- a chance to meet Her Highness, The President of India herself. They went to meet and interacted with the President at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in their 2 and a half hour visit at her abode.

The 40 national brain hunt resultant were then taken to an award function distribution ceremony, which was organized, on July 4, 2012, at Hotel Royal Plaza, in the capital city, New Delhi. India Book of Records was also invited to certify this record initiation of the Dainik Bhaskar group. The India Book of Records team proudly acknowledged this amazing and noble record of ‘Most letters written to the President of a country’.

India Book of Records salutes to these great talents and also to the Dainik Bhaskar group who thought about bringing out the talent which is been hidden inside them.
