Kala Ghoda, which spans less than one sq. km in South Mumbai, is the city’s cultural center, home to several art galleries, gourmet restaurants and heritage buildings. The Kala Ghoda Festival was held between January 15 to January 23, 2005. It was co-ordinated by R Sriram, Managing Director & CEO, Crossword Bookstores Ltd. One of the popular items was an SMS poetry competition. Two of the judges were Jerry Pinto and Marilyn Noronha. First prize winner Peter Griffin was chosen for this SMS poem: Cellular creature now part of my D.NA gladden my heart. First and second runners-up were Manisha Lakhe and Annie Zaidi.
